Back to Vienna
We've changed plans a bit: Due to both of us catching colds and because we're behind on our development schedule, we're returning to Vienna for a bit, before going on the second leg of the tour once we've "officially launched" Soup.
We've made some valuable contacts, spread the word, and gotten some feedback on the app – now it's time to go back to work for a while (and actually sleep in real beds again).

And now a session on geek travel, which is kinda what we're doing now: Nicole Simon shares hotel and flight booking tips (kinda upscale: mile programs, etc), and Jens Hoppe tells us about his laptop backpacking experiences.
Interesting session by kosmar on social networks/software. Especially inspiring was the discussion on the "recent visitors of my profile" feature (seen on Xing, Last.fm, etc) which enables a subtle way of social interaction: the digital equivalent of making eye contact before actually approaching someone.

The Soup session went pretty well. We met an acquaintance of the creator of Mambler, a German (closed/alpha) social tumblelogging platform with some similarities to Pownce, and discussed –among other things– copyright: We'll really need to put up some terms of service soonish.

Day 7: Barcamp Munich
We both just made basically the same post, from different corners of the bland Cisco office at the surprisingly quiet and slow Barcamp – even though 260 people signed up, it seems more like 40 are attending. See below:
(Christopher) Culture shock
Yesterday: London & Paris
Today: On a bus you have to order by phone half an hour in advance, being driven through farmland to the offices of Cisco way outside of Munich, for the Barcamp. That annoying "Numa numa" song and DJ Bobo are playing in the background, and people are wearing Lederhosen. This is weird.

(Esad) We're in Munich
...well, we're actually somewhere in the Bavarian countryside, in a village called Halbergmoos. It takes 30 minutes with S-Bahn from Munich and then another 10 with the shuttle bus (where you get the opportunity to hear DJ Bobos latest album) to get here. Epic journey.
We have our presentation signed up for 13:00 in a conference room called Nike (you guessed it, we're at CISCO). I looklike I haven't slept and changed my t-shirt for days bad.

Okay... train station > Notre Dame > Eiffel tower > train station. Sounds like a plan. Let's run.
